Diagnosis

Small antrorse dentary process on chin; eye directed laterally; pelvic fin black in males; caudal fin white; 32-34 gill rakers; 45-46 pored lateral-line scales; 3.5 scales below lateral line (Ref. 49923). Sexual dimorphism evident in dorsal- and pelvic-fin coloration: dorsal fin with a black distal margin in males, a black tip in females; pelvic fin uniformly black in males, dark centrally in females (Ref. 49923).
