Caudal-fin rays 8; pectoral girdle with 3 round radials; head and body low, mouth oblique; teeth tiny; chin pores interspaced by their diameter, not in a pit; gill opening short, lower end slightly below level of eye; pectoral fin deeply notched, upper pectoral lobe short, about 60% HL, rudimentary rays absent; color nut brown; skin thin; peritoneum, black (Ref. 42734).
