Shorter pectoral fins than other Micronesian Kaupichthys.

Description: Characterized by its uniform greyish brown color; small pectoral fins, shorter than eye diameter; greatest body depth 24-28 in TL; snout to dorsal-fin origin 6.9-7.5; snout to anus about 3.0-3.2 in TL; HL 7.3-7.9 in TL; snout length of 4.5-4.9 in HL; depressed snout, about as broad as long; large eye over posterior part of gape, 1.5-1.8 in snout length; slightly projecting upper jaw; small, multiserial conical teeth on both upper and lower jaws; two widely separated rows of vomerine teeth (Ref. 90102).
