Diagnosis

This species from the group Gobiopsis sensu lato is distinguished by the following character: eyes directed upwards; scales on cheek and gill cover; body with both cycloid and ctenoid scales; barbel-shaped protrusions and pores of seismosensory system on the head absent; D2 and A with 10 branched rays; approximately 26 scales in the longitudinal row from the branchial opening to the caudal fin base and eight transversal scale rows at a level of A origin (Ref. 129453).
