Diagnosis

This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: total vertebrae 50; D 47; A 39; pectoral-fin rays 32; principal caudal-fin rays 10; pectoral proximal radials 4 (first to third with notches); both jaws with trilobate teeth; gill slit 7.1 % SL, extending in front of 7th pectoral-fin ray base; maximum body depth is 19.1 % SL; disk length 7.9 % SL; the anus midway between posterior margin of pelvic disk and anal-fin origin. Colour of body and fins light orange, except for the blackish peritoneum (occipital region, operculum and anterior half of tail lacking epidermis; dorsal and anal fins partly lacking membranes) (Ref. 120239).
