Description: Characterized by maroon color grading to whitish or pinkish on lower head, breast and abdomen; 7 dark maroon patch or bars on side; presence of thin white stripe from anterior of upper edge of eye to base of upper caudal, similar white stripe mid-dorsally from snout tip to middle of body; caudal fin yellow with dark brown triangular markings at middle area; dorsal rays 7; anal rays 7; pectoral rays 21; caudal rays 17; pelvic disc length 3.9 in SL; head length 2.5 in SL; gill rakers on second arch 6, rudimentary (Ref. 90102).
