quota

(English) Amount of catch or harvest allocated in a time period by a governmental authority; could refer to a fishery as a whole; or to that amount allocated to an individual (individual quota) or company of the total allowable catch from a stock. Can be used also to allocate fishing effort or biomass. (See also: total allowable catch, fishery, fishing effort)
