Symptoms: | Shows respiration difficulties, gillcover flurred open, they hang in groups in the surface gasping for air. The skin produce more mucus, exhibiting a turbid film over the skin. | |
Treatments: | Use FMC (1 liter of Formaldehyde (37%) (or 100 ml), 3.7 gm of Malachite Green oxalate (or 0.37 gm), 3.7 gm of Methylene Blue (or 0.37 gm)) for treatment. Dosage is 1.0-1.2 ml/100 l tank water or 25 drops/100 l or 1 drop/gallon. It is also advisable to add an anti-bacterial medicine such as Tetracycline (3-4 gm/100 l for 2-3 days), Neomycine (2-4 gm/100 l for 3 days), Nitrofurazone (250-500 mg/100 l for 3 days), Nifurpirinol (10-15 mg/100 l for an unlimited time or as instructed). In some cases it is recommended to do a 50% water change after 1 to 2 days of treatment and add another ½ dose of FMC. | |
