Family:  Cobitidae (Loaches), subfamily: Botiinae
Max. size:  8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal
Distribution:  Asia: known only from the Mekong river system.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 30-31. Distinguishable from all other species in the modesta-group by the combination of the following characters: 9-10 branched dorsal fin rays, 13-18 narrow, brownish, irregular, bars on sides, a broad bar on caudal peduncle and numerous small brownish spots on caudal fin lobes (Ref. 13469); and narrow pale bar in front and behind black bar on caudal peduncle (Ref. 43281).
