Max. size:  19 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 18 - 400 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Burrard Inlet, British Columbia to northern Baja California, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-8; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 7-9. Caudal fin rounded. Pelvic fins small.
Biology:  Inhabits soft bottoms. Larvae pelagic (Ref. 6885). Feeds almost exclusively on crustaceans, mainly mysids. Preyed upon by flatfishes, hake, and lancetfish (Ref. 6885).
