Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 5 - 100 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: eastern Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 6-6
Biology:  Inhabits sheltered bays and harbors (Ref. 9002), on sand and rocky substrates (Ref. 9563). Form schools (Ref. 9563). Preys mainly on small crustaceans (Ref. 32835).
