Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Cyprininae
Max. size:  45.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: China (circa 24°N 102°E, Ref. 5326).
Diagnosis:  Body semitransparent and faint reddish, fins transparent but caudal fin grayish and with gray edge. Front nostril opening with a short tube and separated with rear nostril opening by a valve; eyes socket located in center of head, slightly caved-in, filled with adipose; eyeball extremely degenerated; barbels 2 pairs (Ref. 45536).
Biology:  Cave-restricted species.
