Biology: |
Inhabits unshaded, rocky, mid-hill streams (Ref. 11966). Larger individuals form small groups of 5-10 fish, inhabiting relatively deep (1-5 m) rock pools at the bottom of cascades, usually sheltering behind boulders in very swift flow. Juveniles occur mainly in the shallow (< 1 m) areas of larger streams with sand or gravel substrates. Sympatric with Labeo fisheri over its known range. |
