Max. size:  15.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to Lake Tanganyika, common and widely distributed in the lake (Ref. 59365).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Littoral to benthic zones over shell, sand and mud bottoms, to a maximum depth of 40 m (Ref. 59365). Omnivorous, feeding on algae, sponges, ostracods, small crabs, insect larvae and fish eggs (Ref. 94050).
