Description: Characterized by pink body color with broad yellow midlateral stripe from rear edge of head to base of caudal fin; presence of yellow orange band on cheek; upper operculum with short yellow band; yellowish dorsal fin and upper caudal fin lobe; pink lower caudal lobe; pelvic fins reaching vertical through base of first soft dorsal ray; slightly prolonged first pelvic soft ray, not reaching origin of anal fin; deeply forked caudal fin, both lobe filamentous; greatest depth of body 3.2 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Solitary or in small groups (Ref. 90102). Lives by rocky reefs at considerable depths (Ref. 9137). |
