This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following characters: D2 I, 9; A I, 10; Pectoral 15-16; longitudinal scale rows 35-37; predorsal scales 4-11; first dorsal fin with prolonged filamentous rays; pectoral fin with 8-10 vertical rows of greyish black spots, body with narrow 9-10 dark grey bars in male; golden longitudinal band on anterior and lateral aspects of snout on both sexes in life (Ref. 58086). |
