Max. size:  11.7 cm SL (female)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 2500 m
Distribution:  Central Pacific: High Seas only.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-6; Anal soft rays: 5-5. Distinguishing characteristics: pair of short, slender, distal escal filaments; small, simple, posterior escal appendage, without filaments along distal margin; three pairs of long, slender, lateral escal filaments on each side; number of teeth in upper jaw 42-47, lower jaw with 51-52 teeth; vomer with 4-8 teeth; length of illicium 9.4-12.9; head length 23.1-30.6; head width 14.5-19.6; head depth 24.8-27.8; length of premaxilla 18.8-22.4; length of lower jaw 27.4-32.2 (Ref. 86949).
Biology:  Caught with a 3-m Isaacs-Kidd mid-water trawl fished open (Ref. 57704).
