Diagnosis: |
Siphateles boraxobius can be distinguished from Siphateles alvordensis by having larger head, concave between eyes, incomplete lateral line, more slender caudal peduncle and usually 13 pectoral rays (Ref. 86798). |
Biology: |
Found in Borax Lake, a small, shallow, clear lake fed by hot springs. This is the only fish occurring in the lake (Ref. 86798). An opportunistic omnivore (Ref. 26179). |
