Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Caudal peduncle deep and long. Caudal fin small. Has 7 spines in first dorsal fin and general color of fish is yellowish brown with silvery speckles (Ref. 48635).
Description: Characterized by presence of dense red orange dots on top of head, snout, eye, jaws, throat; reddish scale margins on body; pattern of scattered dark brown dots on light organ; lateral line incomplete with 8-13 tubed scales; greatest depth of body 2.3-2.5 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Post-larvae were collected from the branches of Pocillopora damicornis at a depth of 18 m in Apra Harbor, Guam. |
