Family:  Engraulidae (Anchovies), subfamily: Coiliinae
Max. size:  11 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: northern coast of Western Australia at Medusa Bank, Cambridge Gulf, but presumably elsewhere along that coast.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 51-54. Rather hump-backed, belly with 18 0r 19 + 7 or 8 = 25 to 27 keeled scutes from isthmus to anus. Lower gill rakers with serrae not distinctly clumped. Pectoral filament long, reaching to base of 27th to 41st anal fin ray.
Biology:  No data on habitat and biology, but presumably marine in coastal waters and perhaps entering estuaries.
