Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-9. Caudal peduncle relatively long. Lower 4th gill arch with the inter-raker spaces with spines (Ref. 37108). |
Biology: |
One of the largest and deepest-dwelling melamphid species. Feeds mainly on pelagic prey. Captured by bottom and midwater trawls (Ref. 26478). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018. |
