Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 87-87. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: absence of distinct black spots dorsally and along its midbody; D 87; precaudal vertebrae 39; pelvic fin length 3.5 % SL; predorsal length 28.5 % SL (Ref. 128809).
