Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Manipur Valley in India (Ref. 4832) in both the Brahmaputra and Chindwin drainages (Ref. 39226).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Processus dentiformis present; 9+8 branched caudal rays; 9 1/2 branched dorsal rays; males with a suborbital flap; complete lateral line; axillary pelvic lobe present; eye smaller than interorbital width; 4.9-5.2% SL (22-24% HL); black basal caudal bar complete; color pattern consisting of bars and reticulated spots; prepelvic length 54.3-55.9% SL; body depth 19.5-24.0% SL; length of caudal peduncle 15.7-16.5% SL (Ref. 39226).
Biology:  Occurs in small streams (Ref. 41236 ).
