Asia: known from a single stream near Muang Mai in the Nam Nua basin, a tributary of the Nam Ou, flowing from Viet Nam to Laos. |
Anterior nostril pierced on front side of a flap; processus dentiformis present; lower lip with a median incision; no median notch in upper lip; lower jaw with a median notch; belly entirely scaled, except between pectoral fins; lateral line complete; anus about 1-2 eye diameters in front of anal-fin origin; 8.5 branched dorsal-fin rays; 5.5 branched anal-fin rays; caudal fin emarginate, with 9+8 branched rays; axillary pelvic lobe present; body depth 15.8-16.5 %SL; caudal peduncle with low dorsal and ventral adipose keels, length 17.1-18.5 %SL, depth 12.3-13.6 %SL, 1.35-1.39 times in length; body with 8-11 bars, narrower than interspaces, not reaching ventral midline, usually ending shortly before meeting their homologues of other body side on the back, leaving a pale predorsal area; black bar at caudal-fin base incomplete, not reaching dorsal and ventral midlines; dorsal-fin base with a black spot anteriorly, followed by an orange patch and a low elongate grey blotch (Ref. 36949). |
