Europe: Endemic to Ireland in Lough Coomasaharn (Kerry). |
Distinguished from congeners in Ireland by having 27-30 gill rakers, 16-20 on lower limb (vs. 11-16 in other species). Can be further distinguished by other species by the combination of having body depth 20-25% SL and snout conical, lower jaw not included in upper one (Ref. 59043). |
Found in a small oligotrophic lake about 9 km from the sea. Feeds only on zooplankton. Spawns in November-December (Ref. 59043). |
