Asia: Xe Pon (a tributary of the Xe Bang Hiang) in the Mekong basin in Laos. Expected to occur in Viet Nam (Xe Pon basin). Possibly endemic to the Xe Bang Hiang basin. |
Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 27-27. Distinguished by the following combination: 2nd dorsal fin rays I/8-9; body with 5 or 6 lateral pale brown square blotches; and male with a horizontal grayish stripe on cheek and 4 small blackish-brown spots on ventral edge of cheek. Body with narrow brown stripes; anal fin with a simple and 8 branched rays (Ref. 43281). |
