Family:  Danionidae (Danios), subfamily: Rasborinae
Max. size:  13 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong, Chao Phraya and Mae Khlong basins, southeast Thailand, southwest Cambodia, Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and western Borneo.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 8-8
Biology:  Inhabits streams and creeks with moderate to swift, relatively cold and well-oxygenated water (Ref. 7050). Lives in hill streams to lowland peats (Ref. 57235). Found in medium to large rivers and brooks of the middle Mekong (Ref. 12975). Occurs in running waters of lower Mekong (Ref. 36667).
