Diagnosis: |
Differs from the other species of the genus by possessing the unique color pattern with a black, conspicuous, midlateral stripe with well defined edges, extending from somewhat in front of vertical through dorsal-fin origin to middle of caudal-fin base, whose width is regularly decreasing backwards, and a large diamond-shaped blotch on the end of the caudal peduncle and the base of the caudal fin, extending over most of the depth of the base of the fin (Ref. 55979). |
