Asia: Aek Sibundung, Batang Toru, and Batang Gadis Rivers (Sumatra) and a tributary draining to Lake Toba in Indonesia. |
Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal soft rays: 7-7; Vertebrae: 32-33. Diagnosed from other species of Rasbora by the following combination of characters: supra-anal pigmentation absent; the black midlateral stripe is only represented by a rectangular subdorsal blotch without a midhumeral diffuse patch and the posterior-portion stripe; and the basicaudal blotch appearing somewhat oval and lacking the basicaudal triangular patch (Ref. 94947).

Inhabits mountain streams and moderate-flowing turbid rivers with gravel bottom. Sympatric with Rasbora api (Ref. 94947). |
