Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong and Salween basins.
Diagnosis:  Length of stiff part of last simple dorsal ray almost equal to or longer than body depth at dorsal origin; elongate body, depth 3.5-4 times SL; slender caudal peduncle, 1.8-2.0 times longer than deep; yellow and black pattern on caudal not very contrasted (Ref. 43281).
