Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 20 - 40 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Characterized by more or less uniformly reddish to dark brown color; snout with dark stripe on side; longitudinal scale series 25; head and nape without scale; restricted gill opening to base of pectoral fin; depth of body at anus 4.5-5.3 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Inhabits deep water on sponges and soft corals in depth of 25 meters or more (Ref. 48637).
