Dark overall with large melanophores; fins paler (Ref. 026938); small; lacking head pores; possess ctenoid scales only along ventral edge and sides of the caudal peduncle; has two modified basicaudal scales at base of caudal fin; first dorsal with VIII spines; pelvic fins united forming a disc; possesses dark internal bars (Ref. 92840). |
Biology: |
Sponge-dwelling goby which inhabits loggerhead sponges, 1-2 ft in diameter, at depths of 12-28 m. Generally co-occurs with Evermannichthys metzelaari (Ref. 92840). |
