Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 681 - 1636 m
Distribution:  North Pacific: off Oregon, central Bering Sea, and off Okhotsk coast of Hokkaido.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 55-59; Anal soft rays: 49-52; Vertebrae: 61-66. Body tapered posteriorly. Head stout and wide. Nostril with raised rim on a level with pupil. Snout high and broadly rounded (Ref. 37271). Teeth, simple and pointed; horizontal mouth; 2 superbranchial pores. Pale stomach (Ref. 11671).
Biology:  Minimum depth reported at 681 m (Ref. 26773).
