Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 1000 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: west coast of Tasmania, Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 61-61; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 53-53; Vertebrae: 67-67. Caudal-fin rays 8; pectoral girdle with 2 round radials; chin pores almost touching, not in a pit but with thin skin fold anteriorly, interspace unpigmented; lower end of gill opening and uppermost pectoral-fin ray horizontal with pupil; opercular flap triangular with rounded end; pectoral without rudimentary rays; nephrohaemal canal present on vertebrae 5-11; HL 18% SL, preanal length 31% SL; color very dark, uniformly brownish-black, mouth grey, tongue grey-dotted, peritoneum black (Ref. 42734).
Biology:  Found on the continental slope. Benthic (Ref. 75154).
