Family:  Paralichthodidae (Peppered flounders)
Max. size:  50 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 100 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean and Southeast Atlantic: known only from Delagoa Bay, Mozambique to Mossel Bay, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 67-74; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 47-54; Vertebrae: 31-31. Eyed side brownish grey with small dark spots, pectoral fin with 12-13 rays; blind side white, pectoral fin with 11 rays (Ref. 6270).
Biology:  Inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms (Ref. 9665).
