Family:  Tetraodontidae (Puffers), subfamily: Tetraodontinae
Max. size:  15.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong basin.
Diagnosis:  Conspicuous single ocellus on flank; dark green or bluish-green back and side, sharply demarcated from immaculate white belly; upper margin of caudal often orange (Ref. 43281).
Biology:  Found in habitats with swift current including rapids (Ref. 27661).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 22 February 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
