Family:  Ophidiidae (Cusk-eels), subfamily: Ophidiinae
Max. size:  11.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 91 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: outer coast of Baja California and Gulf of California to Panama and the Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Uncommon species (Ref. 34024). Adults inhabit sandy bottoms of the continental shelf, up to a depth of 91 m (Ref. 9329). Oviparous, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205).
