Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 30 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Description: Characterized by yellow orange body color; five narrow silvery stripes on body; greatest depth of body 2.7-3.1 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Found in clear coastal and outer reefs, juveniles in harbors, boulder rock and usually in small aggregations (Ref. 9002).
