Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 11-11; Vertebrae: 26-26. The species is distinguished by the following characters: a rigid upper jaw lacking flexible lamina posteriorly, extending about 0.9 eye diameters behind posterior margin of orbit; infraorbitals are very broad and robust, third infraorbital without suborbital shelf; D XI,12; A II,11; vertebrae 10+16; scale rows in horizontal series about 68 or 69; total gill rakers on first arch 39; when alive, it has 3 golden stripes on the body (Ref. 128653). |
