Dorsal fin slightly notched between spinous and soft portions; pectoral rays usually 12;lacking lateral-line tubes; gill opening extending ventrally opposite level of pectoral rays 8-12; head cirri absent; body depth ca. 6.1 in SL. Maximum size at least 3.5 cm TL (Ref. 90102). |
Adults inhabit mangroves (Ref. 90102). Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114). |
