Inhabits sandy pools of headwaters, creeks and small to large rivers. Also occurs in quiet areas of lakes (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on microcrustacea, midge larvae and pupae, and some terrestrial insects (Ref. 10294). Very similar to Notropis cahabae (Ref. 5723). |
