Description: predatory looking, elongate species; relatively longer jaws, more teeth and more longitudinal line scales than most congenerics; outer oral teeth unicuspid or weakly bicuspid and closely set; lachrymal very shallow; premaxillary pedicel short (Ref. 55954).
Coloration: with spots arranged in a kind of oblique line; in most specimens this line does not seem to be continuous, but rather in a stretched elongate "Z" shape, with the transition zone somewhat broader than the more horizontal parts of the line; vertical bars visible (Ref. 55954). |
Found over sandy substrate. Piscivorous. Feeds by chasing fish close to the substrate (Ref. 5595). |
