Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: Very difficult to determine due to paucity of records. Perhaps ranging from southern China to the South Pacific. Possibly from Celebes, but no confirmed reports from the East Indies.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-4; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Dark dorsally, flanks silvery, whitish ventrally (Ref. 9812).
Biology:  Rare species with no data available. Oviparous, eggs could be pelagic and non-adhesive like other members of this family (Ref. 205).
