Max. size:  43 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: coastal basins of the Guinean region and Cameroon.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 60-74; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-29. Dorsal fin 2.4-3.4x length of anal; dorsal origin well before pectorals; 10-15 scales on caudal peduncle; body height 4.1-6.1x SL; caudal peduncle 2.5-4.1x long than high.
Biology:  Affinities: Mormyrus rume and Mormyrus subundulatus, Mormyrus tapirus with longer snout, longer anal fin and 10-15 scales on caudal peduncle.
