Max. size:  25 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 25 years
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: endemic to Lake Tiberias [=Lake Kinneret] in Israel.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lives near the surface in large schools, with occasional forays to deeper waters (Ref. 11031). Spawns in November to March. Females attach eggs separately on rocks (Ref. 11030). Diet limited to zooplankton, essentially copepods and cladocerans.
