Family:  Microdesmidae (Wormfishes), subfamily: Microdesminae
Max. size:  10.45 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 0 - 2 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Costa Rica.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 28-28; Vertebrae: 67-69. Body with a distinct row of round to diagonal spots along side, which anteriorly are confluent with a well-defined dark streak running posteriorly from the eye, and with a row of asymmetrically placed oblong spots on either side of dorsal fin; pigment present along about two-thirds of length of dorsal and anal elements (Ref. 48399).
Biology:  Collected in shallow, quiet water, over a silty to sandy bottom, close to the ocean (Ref. 48399).
