Dorsal soft rays (total): 5-6; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 3-4. This species is distinguished by the following characters: large flat bucklers cover on ventral surface of disc and caudal peduncle; teeth on vomer form a very wide band; elongated subopercular buckler slightly curved, with 2 forward-directed spines at tip; pectoral-fin rays 14-15 (mainly 15) (Ref. 92977). |
