Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: southern British Columbia, Canada to California, USA.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 44; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 31. Caudal oval; pectorals large, pointed (Ref. 6885).
Biology:  Found in sandy to rocky bottoms (Ref. 51666).
