Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: known only from southern Japan and Korea. Reported from Taiwan (Ref. 5193) and from Palau in the western central Pacific (Ref. 37816).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Lives in tolerable depths with rocky places (Ref. 9137).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 11 March 2015 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
