Max. size:  14.5 cm TL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 40.0 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 22 - 230 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Red Sea to the Marshall Islands, north to southern China and southern Taiwan, south to Bali, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Luminous organs on the thorax and abdomen.
Biology:  Found over silty bottom (Ref. 37816).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 14 August 2023 Ref. (130435)
